I had applied to a couple services and wasn't having any luck. I decided I needed to get some extra help with bolstering my resume and improving my interviewing skills. I was recommended Black Helmet Consulting by a friend I did my Pre-Service with and after he explained it to me I was sold. Tomm stays working with you until you get a CJO, and doesn't leave you hanging after they have your money like a lot of other guys do. Conditional Job Offers usually have 4 conditions attached to them:
1. Medical Evaluation
2. Driver’s Abstract
3. Vulnerable Sector Check (Police Check)
4. References
How much does the BHC Mentorship Program cost?
Pricing for Interview Prep, Custom Cover Letter and Resume can all be found under THE PROGRAM page.
How long does it take to receive a custom cover letter and custom resume?
The turnaround time depends on the Member.
How much time the Member has available, how hard they work and how quickly they can move.
If there is a posting a Member would like to apply to, BHC will be very clear on the turnaround time obligations.
BHC does not work at midnight the night before the posting closes.
What courses or volunteer opportunities do you recommend?

Is your Mentorship Program in-person or virtual?
One in-person session is mandatory. After this session all work is remote via e mail or text.
If you require additional assistance we can schedule a phone call.
Why is there homework?
There is no secret sauce with interview preparation. You must put your nose to the grindstone and work at your pace, but remember once a posting comes out there is a limited time frame to apply.
The time to start interview prep is yesterday.
What is the secret to getting hired?
The hiring process is not static and there are many moving parts.
You have to stay focused with your eye on the prize at all times.
There is NO SECRET way to get hired.
What worked for one Member may not be the road map for the next Member. Do not look sideways.
We craft and follow your custom plan. The 3 words I hate are “SOMEONE TOLD ME”.

The only thing that I need to say about Tomm and the Black Helmet Consulting Process is that it works.
I have wanted to be a firefighter ever since I was a little kid. Once I had lined up everything in order to handle my responsibilities outside of fire, I knew that getting some coaching would help me get an extra edge.
Tomm's method ultimately provides you with focus and confidence. I became more focused in my approach to building my resume. I then used his thorough and introspective process to help craft my interview gameplan. Once I had those two things locked down I was able to practice efficiently and have a lot of confidence when I got my shot to interview.
To be honest, before starting with Tomm I was woefully under prepared to deal with the Firefighting application process. Some of the habits and best practices that worked in the business world needed to be broken down and reconstructed. Tomm helped me put in the RIGHT work and when I got to the interview I was able to crush it. First interview and then landed the dream job.
